We have learned another tool called Google Insights Search.  This is a great tool that can offer us a collection of data that shows us the frequency of people using searching engine.  It also gives us great resources that enable us to compare different company/ product, etc. and help us to create a broader idea before we make decision.  

10/31 class notes

today in the class we reviewed what we have learned on the database.  also Google Refine has introduced to us in the class.  Google Refine is a very useful tool that assist us to "refine" messy information in our document which Excel can't do it just yet.  It also helps to file a large document and easier for us to analyze database.

We discussed about social network.  There are many function on facebook, and we  can even advertise on the facebook now as well.  It's not just another email system that connect us with our customer only.  It creates many more business opportunities for us.  It can help us to narrow down our target market, and also easy to get attention from the users. 

10/24 class note

There are many resources online that can help us to build our own website.  We don't have to be professional in programming, but we can still make a decent website and it's free.  We have learned how to operate basic html codes via notepad++.  For instance: writing headings, paragraph, colors, pictures, and videos.

10/26 class notes Today we discussed a little more about the midterm, and also learned more about how to set up our website. I have tried to add a Paypal bottom on my page. Following is the example. This is for class uses only! Selling a book.

The past two weeks, we have been "playing" a game in the class.  We actually learned how to build a city while we were trying to expand our company.  We have to pay attention on  both buying new equipment/ technology, and researching for new knowledge. 

I also found out that Internet is actually came out earlier than WWW.  We also discussed about how technology will change in the future. Space and time is not going to be an big influence anymore.  Technology draws people closer and closer.  The entire world is going to be very interesting when everyone has a way to access to internet anytime, anywhere.  It's going to change the way we work, social , business, and even more in our life.  I can't wait to see that happen!

10/14 class notes

We first discussed about the problem/error we might had while we were trying to operate Microsoft Access.  And some of those were just out of blue, such as language translation, different version software, etc.  It's essential to find out these problems when we design IS for a project, so we can reach a better result.
