The past two weeks, we have been "playing" a game in the class.  We actually learned how to build a city while we were trying to expand our company.  We have to pay attention on  both buying new equipment/ technology, and researching for new knowledge. 

I also found out that Internet is actually came out earlier than WWW.  We also discussed about how technology will change in the future. Space and time is not going to be an big influence anymore.  Technology draws people closer and closer.  The entire world is going to be very interesting when everyone has a way to access to internet anytime, anywhere.  It's going to change the way we work, social , business, and even more in our life.  I can't wait to see that happen!

We first discussed about the problem/error we might had while we were trying to operate Microsoft Access.  And some of those were just out of blue, such as language translation, different version software, etc.  It's essential to find out these problems when we design IS for a project, so we can reach a better result.

Database vs Spreadsheets: Database is metadata - data about data

we have discussed what database is, for example Google, Wikipedia, and even Google Doc.  We can also use database and it's query function to find out answer to our question so that we can make a better decision.  If we can find a way to collect our data, it will help us better to make a decision.

We can also put two databases together, just like on the lds.org you can find a contact info for the ward, and with google map database, it makes easier for us to find other church members location.  And when we put two or more databases together, we call it "mash it up".

I have learned from my group member today about how computer works.  We all have a part to share with our group member and teach each other about their assigned hardware.  I like how we only have to focus one hardware for each group member, in that way we get into more depth of information of each hardware. And when we were in the group, we were able to teach each other with a decent idea on the hardware. 




We also had a chance to learn a little bit about Access.  It was my first time to use this database software, and I had heard about this software long time ago, but just never got a chance to learn it.  It seems like a great tool to assist us to sort all the information.
